BROMPTON, SCARBOROUGH

'Brompton' is a village and civil parish in the Scarborough district of North Yorkshire, England, about 8 miles west of Scarborough itself, close to the North York Moors and on the A170 road. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 516. On the sign going into Brompton it says 'The Birthplace Of Aviation' owing to the long term residence of pioneering aeronautical engineer George Cayley.
