"A" company of the Durham light infantry were ordered down a lane, off to the right, to clear a farmhouse of German soldiers. They were ambushed and a number of brave men were killed in action. Amongst them was Elias Sterio, a 24 year old from Wales.
Elias Sterio and his "brothers in arms" now lie at peace at the war cemetery, to the west of Tilly sur Seulles.
A memorial should be placed at Le pont de la Guillette, Bucéels to honour those brave men, it can also serve as a place for family members to place their floral tributes.
