BUONA VISTA MRT STATION

The 'Buona Vista MRT Station' '(EW21/CC22)' is a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station located in the town of Buona Vista in Singapore that is part of the East West Line and the Circle Line (under construction), and serves as an interchange between the two lines. On the East West Line, it is between the Dover and Commonwealth stations. On the Circle Line (under construction), it is between the Holland Village and one-north MRT Stations.
It has a taxi stand and serves the Ministry of Education. Just opposite to this MRT is the Biopolis campus. It is one of two stations on the Mass Rapid Transit with direct shuttle bus services to the National University of Singapore besides Clementi, with bus service number 95 operated by SBS Transit to and from Kent Ridge Bus Terminal. By 2011, the university will be served directly by the Kent Ridge MRT Station , a station on the Circle Line and two stations south of Buona Vista.
The station is undergoing retrofitting with lift installation, however, it will not open until the adjoining Circle Line station is completed.
Near here in 1946/7 was a large military base workshops (REME)

On 25 March 2006, a man by the name of Azman was killed by a train in the direction of Pasir Ris as he went down to retrieve his shoe. Trains were disrupted from Jurong East to Queenstown stations. ^[1]
