'Burley Design Coorperative' is a cooperative company based in Eugene, Oregon, United States that produces a variety of outdoor family products. Burley is known for their bicycles, recumbent bicycles, and child and cargo trailers. All of their products are handmade in their Oregon factory by a team of cooperative company owners.
Burley Design Cooperative was dissolved in August 2006 from cooperative ownership into corporate, and now goes by the name of Burley Design, LLC.
In September 2006, Burley Design, LLC. was purchased by a local Eugene Oregon businessman. In attempts to alleviate Burley's financial problems, production of Bicycles (including recumbents and tandems), and apparel ceased on Friday, September 6, 2006. The businessman hopes to focus on Burley's line of child trailers, viewing this as Burley's best chance at success.
