Programming

CSN Mid-Atlantic televises most games of the Washington Wizards, Washington Capitals, and DC United. CSN Mid-Atlantic also carries Washington Redskins magazine and post-game shows, and jointly broadcasts Redskins preseason games with WUSA. The network has rights to ACC-related games, in particular those offered by Lincoln Financial Sports or that would otherwise not be televised, and coaches shows from Virginia Tech and the University of Maryland-College Park. It has a talk show called ''Washington Post Live'' which airs each weekday. It also has a sports highlights show called SportsNite, which airs three times each night. The late-night broadcast is replayed during the morning, when it is called SportsRise.
CSN Mid-Atlantic produces and shows Colonial Athletic Association basketball games. It also airs a lot of Fox Sports Net programming (see below).
Through the 2006 season, CSN Mid-Atlantic showed Baltimore Orioles games, which moved to team-owned MASN in 2007. Comcast refused to add MASN, which debuted in 2005 and also shows Washington Nationals games, to its cable systems until September 2006, because the company believed that they had a contractual right to keep Orioles games on their network by having first and last refusal rights. This led to some subscribers switching to DirecTV, which had reached a deal with MASN, and a lawsuit between Comcast and the Orioles, which the Orioles ultimately won.
On air, the network simply refers to itself as Comcast SportsNet, rather than CSN. The network airs little programming produced by other Comcast SportsNet affiliates.

FSN on Comcast SportsNet

CSN Mid-Atlantic carries FSN programming in lieu of a FSN affiliate. This offers the regions access to a variety of college sports, notably ACC men's and women's basketball on Sundays, Pac-10 basketball on various nights, plus Big 12 and Pac-10 football on Saturdays during their respective seasons. They also air studio shows, such as The Best Damn Sports Show Period, and the FSN Final Score. This arrangement is to secure national coverage for its collegiate lineup of games.
