CACOCUM

'Cacocum' is a municipality and town in Holguín Province of Cuba. It is located exactly to the south of the city of Holguín after you travel east of the Areopuerto Internacional Frank País (Frank País International Airport) towards the city of Bayamo on the Central Highway. It has an area of approximately 600 km² that include extremely flat ground stretching south to the municipality’s boundaries with Granma Province. Its territory is bounded on the west by Las Tunas Province, and on the east with Báguanos Municipality, its nearest neighbor.

The Central Highway and the Central Railroad pass nearby Cacocum town, the most populated settlement of this municipality.

Two local sugar mills: Antonio Maceo and Cristino Naranjo represent Cacocum’s main economic activity.
