'California's 24th congressional district' covers parts of Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. It is one of 53 California Congressional Districts. George W. Bush received 56% of the vote in this district in 2004; John Kerry received 43%.^[1] The district has a Cook Partisan Voting Index score of R +5.
