CAPE CANAVERAL AIR FORCE STATION LAUNCH COMPLEX 40

Launch Complex 40. The Titan IV awaiting launch contains the Cassini-Huygens probe bound for Saturn.
'Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Launch Complex 40' ('LC-40') is a Launch Site at Merritt Island, Cape Canaveral, Florida. The site was used by the US Air Force, for Titan III and Titan IV launches. On April 25, 2007, the US Air Force gave SpaceX permission to use the complex to launch its Falcon rocket. [1]
The first launch from LC-40 was the maiden flight of the Titan IIIC, carrying two transtage upper stages to test the functionality of the vehicle.
Two interplanetary missions were launched from the pad. On September 25 1992, it was the launch site for the failed Mars Observer spacecraft, and on October 15 1997, it was used to launch the Cassini-Huygens mission to Saturn.
The most recent use of the pad was on April 30, 2005, when a Titan IVB launched the USA 176 early warning satellite.
The structures such as the tower and MSS are still intact, however the MSS will be demolished before SpaceX start using the pad. The tower is likely to remain intact.
