CARRINGTON, NOTTINGHAM

Carrington is a small area of Nottingham. It lies next to the areas of Sherwood, Mapperley Park, Forest Fields, Basford and the Forest Recreation Ground.
Carrington is often said to be part of Sherwood, but due to its very different atmosphere, the majority of Nottingham's residents know it by Carrington. Because it's so near to the City Centre, Carrington has a number of hotels and guest-houses along its two main roads and has a quite a few local shops (although not quite as much as its neighbour, Sherwood). It is home to two schools, one named after the area's name and the other named after one of its roads, Claremont Road.
The area has caught Nottingham's attention in recent years with the addition of a large Persimmon estate called Carrington Point and the arrival of a Lidl supermarket.
