(Redirected from Catinaccio)
The 'Catinaccio' (German: 'Rosengarten') is a massif in the
Dolomites,
Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, northern
Italy. It is located between the
Tiers,
Eggental and
Fassa Valleys, c. 10 km east to
Bolzano.
One peculiarity of the Catinaccio is the pink shade which it takes in the sunset, due to the presence of
dolomite mineral; the German name means indeed "Garden of Roses".
The highest peak is the Kesselkogel/Catinaccio d'Antermoia, at 3,002 m over the sea level. Other peaks include:
★ Rosengartenspitze (Cima Catinaccio, 2,981 m)
★ Vajolet-Türme (Torri del Vajolet, 2,813 m)
★ Laurinswand (Croda di Re Laurino, 2,813 m)
★ Tscheiner-Spitze (Cima Sforcella, 2,810 m)
