CENTRAL GOLDFIELDS SHIRE


'Central Goldfields Shire' is a Local Government Area in Victoria, Australia. It is located in the central part of the state. It includes the towns of Carisbrook, Dunolly, Adelaide Lead and Maryborough. It has an area of 1,536 square kilometres. In 2001 it had a population of 13,000. It was formed in 1995 from the merger of the City of Maryborough, Shire of Tullaroop, Shire of Bet Bet and Shire of Talbot & Clunes.
