CHANG OF GORYEO

'Chang of Goryeo' (1381-1389, r. 1388-1389) was the 33rd and youngest ruler of the Goryeo dynasty of Korea. He was the son of his predecessor, King U. U was forced from power after Yi Seonggye mutinied in 1388, and Chang was put on the throne in his stead. But as Yi took full control of the military, Chang was driven to Ganghwado and replaced on the throne by Gongyang of Goryeo, on the grounds that Gongyang was of true royal blood.
Chang was assassinated, together with his father, shortly after the ascension of Gongyang. He was not yet ten years old.
