CHARLES II, DUKE OF BOURBON
Portrait of Charles II by Master of Moulins
'Charles II of Bourbon' (Château de Moulins, 1434–September 13 1488, Lyon) was Duke of Bourbon and Auvergne for a short period of time in 1488, succeeding his elder brother, John II. Charles was a clergyman, Cardinal and Archbishop of Lyon and, thus, had no legitimate issue. He had only a natural daughter and was succeeded by his younger brother Peter II. His mother was Agnes of Burgundy.
