'Charlestown' is an electoral district or ward in the north of the City of Manchester, England. Voters from this ward elect three councillors to Manchester City Council. Currently the three councillors are Veronica Kirkpatrick, Basil Curley, and Mark Hackett. All three are members of the Labour Party.
Hackett was a member of the City Council's Executive up to May 2007, responsible for the Culture and Leisure portfolio. His current term as councillor expires in 2008. Curley is a member of the council's Executive with responsibility for Adult Services. He also sits on the Art Galleries committee and is chair of the Constitution and Nomination committee. His term expires in 2011. Veronica Kirkpatrick was elected in a bye election on June 14, 2007 and will serve until 2010.
