CHARLIE COMYN-PLATT


'Charlie Comyn-Platt' (born October 2, 1985 in Withington) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender. He is currently without a club, having left Rochdale.
Charlie started his football career at Bolton Wanderers, and made his debut in the 2004/05 season - a 3-1 win over Walsall coming on as a late substitute. He played in three other games that season for Bolton Against Gillingham in the Carling Cup and twice against Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup.
The 2005/06 season saw Comyn-Platt fail to break into the Bolton line-up once more and was sent out on loan to Wycombe Wanderers for one month.
The defender was released by Bolton at the end of the 2004/05 season was signed by Andy King for Swindon Town along with fellow Bolton youngster Ricky Shakes.
Comyn-Platt struggled to break into the first team at Swindon but after King's dismissal and Iffy Onuora's appointment he found himself breaking into the first team.
Though Swindon were relegated at the end of the 2005/06 season, Comyn-Platt was offered a one-year contract, which he accepted. In 2006-07, Charlie was a consistent member of the first team under Dennis Wise's reign, but then found himself out of favour under current Swindon manager Paul Sturrock, and on November 23 2006 he joined Grays Athletic on loan until January 2007.
On January 31 2007, Comyn-Platt joined Rochdale just a few minutes before the transfer window closed at midnight. He signed an 18 month deal with the Dale, but didn't play at all in his first half-season, and his contract was terminated by mutual consent in July 2007.
He attended Parrs Wood Technology College in East Didsbury, South Manchester along will fellow footballer Carlos Roca, who currently plays for Northwich Victoria.
