CHESTERFIELD (UK PARLIAMENT CONSTITUENCY)
'Chesterfield' is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It is a marginal seat between the Liberal Democrats and Labour.

It includes most of the town of Chesterfield and neighbours the Bolsover and North East Derbyshire constituencies.
History
The constituency was long a Labour stronghold,with strong associations with the nearby Yorkshire city of Sheffield, but following veteran left-wing firebrand Tony Benn stepping down,it surprised many when it became the Liberal Democrats' first seat in the East Midlands in the 2001 General Election.
