CHIEF WYANDANCH
'Chief Wyandanch' (died 1660) was chief of the Montaukett Indians in the late 1600s on eastern Long Island. He deeded much of the land to Lion Gardiner and was reportedly poisoned because of this. Wyandanch, New York is named for him.
