CHILDREN'S PEACE PAVILION

The 'Children's Peace Pavilion' located at the Community of Christ Auditorium in Independence, Missouri, was established in 1995 to pursue its mission of "Enriching the lives of children through the pursuit of peace for all."
It attracts approximately 20,000 visitors each year to a number of exhibits designed to teach concepts of personal peace, social peace, international peace, and environmental peace to children ages 12 and under. It is frequently used as a destination for elementary school field trips for students in the area of Independence and Kansas City, Missouri. Local Girl Scouts may also earn Girl Scouts of the USA insignia through a partnership with Children's Peace Pavilion.
Children's Peace Pavilion offers a membership program called Peace Champions inspired by the writings and work of the late child peace advocate Mattie Stepanek who encouraged other children to make peace an attitude, habit and reality.
Beginning in January 2007, Children's Peace Pavilion has announced a Certified Peace Educator graduate degree program in association with Graceland University, BullySafe USA, Partnership for Children and the Independence, Missouri School District.
As an independent 501(c)3 charitable organization, Children's Peace Pavilion is governed by an independent board of community leaders.
