CHIODOS

'Chiodos' (pronounced Chee-Oh-Dose) are a six-member post-hardcore band from Davison, Michigan. Originally known as "The Chiodos Bros.," the band's name was a nod to filmmakers Stephen, Charles, and Edward Chiodo, responsible for movies such as ''Killer Klowns from Outer Space''. Their second full length album, Bone Palace Ballet, was released in North America on the 4th September, 2007. The international release date is set for Spethember 24th 2007.

Background

Beto started off playing at the Flint Local 432, a small venue in downtown Flint, Michigan. From there, the band started touring extensively, soon becoming "word-of-mouth faves across the nation."[1] Chiodos has toured the United States at least seven times, and have played alongside such bands as From First to Last, Coheed and Cambria, Saosin, Armor for Sleep, Atreyu, Yellowcard, The Used, Senses Fail, Aiden, The Devil Wears Prada, Evaline, and 30 Seconds to Mars.[2] The band is known for their on-stage performances which include controlled, high-pitched vocals from lead singer, Craig Owens. One of their most notorious live sets was at the New Jersey music festival "the Bamboozle" on May 7th, 2006, which they played under the alias of "Fluff My Boner." From this set a plethora of videos were released on YouTube almost immediately following the show. The band also performed May 6th at "The Bamboozle" festival under their own name.
Their debut album, ''All's Well That Ends Well'' was released by Equal Vision on July 24th, 2005. It reached #3 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart and #164 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.[3] The band's albums and live performances have garnered praise from press outlets.[4][5][6][7][8]
Chiodos headlined some shows on their own before joining Alternative Press's 2006 "Invisible Sideshow" tour, headlined by Armor for Sleep.[9][10] Following that tour, they supported Matchbook Romance on the Sub City "Take Action" tour in Spring 2006. That summer, they toured with Fear Before the March of Flames, as well as appearing on the Warped Tour. They also toured with The Used, 30 Seconds to Mars, Saosin, Aiden Senses Fail and Evaline on the 2007 Rockstar Taste of Chaos tour.
In the fall, Chiodos appeared on Atreyu's World Championship Tour, alongside From First to Last and Every Time I Die, as well as 3 and 36 Crazyfists. After reports of Sonny from From First to Last having throat/vocal issues, Craig offered to help by filling in for Sonny, although this never went through after From First to Last was kicked off the tour.

Music Videos

In 2005, Chiodos independently made a video for the song "All Nereids Beware." The video consists of the band playing the rare pre-All's Well That Ends Well version of the song in a parking lot.
In 2006, Chiodos made videos for "One Day Women Will All Become Monsters" and "Baby, You Wouldn't Last a Minute on the Creek". The "Baby…" video was included on the 2006 re-issue of ''All's Well That Ends Well'', which added a DVD and three acoustic tracks to the 2005 release.
On November 18, 2006, Chiodos filmed a live video for "The Words 'Best Friend' Become Redefined" at the Bren Events Center in Irvine, California. The band played the song three times in order to get the crowd reaction they wanted.

Live

In an effort to build excitement for their upcoming set, Chiodos often open their shows by having their guitar tech, Dave Arnold, come out onto the stage dressed up in a costume (such as a gorilla, a "Troll Master," or more recently, an Easter bunny) and introduce the band with a quick monologue. An example of this can be seen on the DVD that comes with the deluxe reissue of ''All's Well That Ends Well''. This is usually proceeded by an abundance of fog on stage, and dramatic music (not their own; often used is Clint Mansell's "Summer Overture" from the film ''Requiem for a Dream'').
