CHRISTIAN, MARGRAVE OF BRANDENBURG-BAYREUTH

'Christian of Brandenburg-Bayreuth' (30 January 1581, Cölln30 May 1655, Bayreuth) was a Margrave of Bayreuth.
He was a son of John George, Elector of Brandenburg and his third wife Princess Elisabeth of Anhalt-Zerbst. In 1603 he became the Margrave of Bayreuth after the death of childless Georg Friedrich, Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach and thus founded the 'Younger line of Brandenburg-Bayreuth'.
He was one of the founders of the Protestant Union.

In 1604 Christian married with Duchess Marie of Prussia, daughter of Albert Frederick, Duke of Prussia. They had the following children:
