CIVITANOVA MARCHE

'Civitanova Marche' is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Macerata in the Italian region Marche, located about 40 km southeast of Ancona and about 25 km east of Macerata. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 39,545 and an area of 45.8 km².^[1]
The municipality of Civitanova Marche contains the ''frazioni'' (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Civitanova Alta, Fontespina, Santa Maria Apparente, Risorgimento, San Marone, and Maranello.
Civitanova Marche borders the following municipalities: Montecosaro, Porto Sant'Elpidio, Potenza Picena, Sant'Elpidio a Mare.
