CLARION HOTELS

'Clarion Hotels' and 'Clarion Collection' are a lower upscale brand of hotels owned by Choice Hotels International. As of August 2006, there are 158 Clarion Hotels in the United States and 25 hotels under development. Internationally, 96 Clarion Hotels are open and 12 are under development. Originally branded as Quality Royale Hotels, the first location opened in 1981 and the name was changed to Clarion in the late 1980's.
