Biography

Early life

DuVall was born in Los Angeles, California, the only child of Rosemary (née Hatch) and Stephen DuVall. Her mother divorced her husband when Clea was twelve. After her mother remarried, DuVall dropped out of high school and moved into her own apartment.[1] She sought entertainment in movies and television programs, memorizing entire scenes. Though a rather shy person, DuVall decided she wanted to be an actress, and returned to high school, this time the Los Angeles County High School of the Arts, while working to support herself.1
Prior to making her appearance in ''Little Witches'', she worked in a coffee shop.
Career

DuVall's first major role came in Robert Rodriguez's 1998 take on the alien-body-snatcher genre, ''The Faculty'' (1998), which featured other up-and-coming young actors such as Elijah Wood and Josh Hartnett. DuVall played the role of Stokely Mitchell, a tough Goth teenage girl. Other roles came in the 1999's ''But I'm a Cheerleader'' as Graham Eaton, ''She's All That'' to support Rachael Leigh Cook's character, and ''Girl, Interrupted'' as a mental patient named Georgina Tuskin.
In 2001, DuVall appeared in ''See Jane Run'', ''Ghosts of Mars'', and ''Thirteen Conversations About One Thing'' as Beatrice "Bea", who is being injured. She also appeared in George Huang's 2001 television movie and the third in Cinemax's ''Creature Features'', ''How to Make a Monster'', when she is selected to play a young female intern Laura Wheeler, who becomes its noteworthy protagonist[2] and final girl, and perhaps a leading role opposite Steven Culp, along with Tyler Mane, Jason Marsden and Karim Prince. In addition, she has a guest role in ''The Fugitive'' (TV series), as Lynette Hennessy.
In 2002, she made her appearance in ''The Laramie Project'' as Amanda Gronich. In 2004, DuVall featured in the three-hour television remake/prequel movie ''Helter Skelter'' as former Charles Manson "Family" member Linda Kasabian, who became the star witness for the prosecution in the infamous 1969 Hollywood, California Tate-LaBianca murder trial. In addition, she has a major role in the American horror movie remake ''The Grudge'', with her friend Sarah Michelle Gellar, as the wife of William Mapother's character.
Recently she has appeared on the hit NBC show ''Heroes'' as a fictional FBI agent Audrey Hanson. In addition, she has appeared in the recent film ''Ten Inch Hero''. Her upcoming roles will be ''Anamorph'' and ''Passengers''.
DuVall has directed a short film called ''It's Not Easy Being Green'', starring Leisha Hailey, Carla Gallo and herself.[3]
Personal life

DuVall is good friends with Summer Phoenix, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Rachael Leigh Cook, Natasha Lyonne[4] and Jamie Babbit.
DuVall is not related to actors Robert Duvall or Shelley Duvall, who share their surnames with her.[5]
