COBB GALLERIA CENTRE
The 'Cobb Galleria Centre' is a meeting and convention center and a shopping center near Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States. It has hosted over 10,000 events and millions of guests. The venue operates under the authority of the Cobb-Marietta Coliseum and Exhibit Hall Authority and is located at the intersection of three major highways: I-75, I-285, and Cobb Parkway just northwest of the city. The 'Galleria Specialty Mall', which pre-dates the convention center, is located downstairs, with meeting halls upstairs.

History
Originally, the Galleria was an upscale mall, immediately across Cobb Parkway from Cumberland Mall, and serving much the same role as Phipps Plaza does for Lenox Square. Business declined and an entire wing (including the movie theatre) closed, and it was decided that the upstairs would become a convention center.
Construction began on the Cobb Galleria Centre renovation in 1992, on the ground adjacent to the mall at the east corner of Cobb Parkway (U.S. 41) and I-285. The region was then known as the "Platinum Triangle" but is referred to today as Cumberland/Galleria, or just "Cumberland".
