COOKING VINYL
'Cooking Vinyl' is a UK-based independent record company, founded in 1986. Its original orientation was toward contemporary folk music -- Billy Bragg is the label's signature artist, and Michelle Shocked's ''Texas Campfire Tapes'', recorded on a Sony Walkman, was one of its first releases -- though it has long since branched out into many genres of rock and, with The Orb even into electronica.
