COVENTRY BEES
The 'Coventry Bees' are a Motorcycle speedway team based in Coventry, England. They won the British Elite League Speedway Championship in 2005, defeating Belle Vue Aces in the Grand Final of the Championship Playoffs.
It was the 7th time that the club had been crowned Champions, following on from successes achieved in 1953, 1968, 1978, 1979, 1987 and 1988.
On October 13th 2006, the Bees lifted the Elite League Knockout Cup for the second time in their history. Once again they defeated the Belle Vue Aces in the final.
The Bees are consistently amongst the top teams in the country, and have an avid following amongst Coventry's sporting community. They are owned by Brandon Stadium owner Avtar Sandhu, with the promotion licence held by Colin Pratt.
