COWAN, INDIANA
'Cowan' is a small unincorporated town in Monroe Township in Delaware County, Indiana, United States, approximately six miles south of downtown Muncie.
The Cowan Street Light Festival was an annual event held in Cowan to raise money to pay for the electricity used by the town's street lights, with most funds raised by selling booths to vendors. Public education is administered by the Cowan Community School Corporation (formerly the Monroe Community School Corporation).
Cowan is located at 40°06'21" North, 85°23'19" West (40.105500, -85.390000) on Delaware County Road 600 South between Center Road and County Road 50 West. The Norfolk Southern Railway passes north and south through town.
