SOCIAL CHRISTIANS

(Redirected from Cristiano Sociali)
'Social Christians' (''Cristiano Sociali'', CS) is an Italian social-democratic party of the Christian Left founded in 1993.
Among its founders were former trade-union leader Pierre Carniti and economist Ermanno Gorrieri. It has 5,500 members, and counts three members of the lower chamber (Chamber of Deputies), three of the upper (Senate), four regional councillors and more than 200 provincial and city councillors. It is led by Mimmo Lucà.
In 1998 it contributed to the foundation of the Democrats of the Left, and it is now a faction within that party.
Social Christians is a member organization of the International League of Religious Socialists.
