CROSS KEYS, NEW JERSEY
'Cross Keys' is an unincorporated area , within Monroe Township, in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States. The area is north-west of Williamstown and east of Glassboro, about 15 miles south-south-east of downtown Philadelphia.
Cross Keys Airport (identifier: 17N) is about 1 mile south of the town at 39°42′19.7130 N 75°01′58.8110 W, altitude 162ft/39m, with a single runway 09/27 (085M/074T - 265M/254T, loose asphalt) of length 3500x50ft/1067x15m with a 0.9 gradient (descending) from west to east. The airport is used for parking of private aircraft and as a base for skydiving.
Cross Keys Airport made international news on 25 May 2006 when several F-16 jets escorted a Cessna aircraft to land there after it strayed into a 30 mile restricted area temporarily imposed during the visit of President George W. Bush to a town in Pennsylvania. The pilot was said to be "in radio contact... compliant."[1]
