CURL CURL, NEW SOUTH WALES
'Curl Curl' is a suburb of northern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Curl Curl is located 18 kilometres north-east of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Warringah Council and is part of the Northern Beaches region. Curl Curl is colloquially known as "Curly".

Location
Curl Curl Lagoon and Greendale Creek, separate Curl Curl from North Curl Curl. Neighbouring suburbs include Harbord, Brookvale and Dee Why. Wingala is an adjacent locality. Curl Curl Beach runs along the eastern border and extends to North Curl Curl Beach.
Sport and Recreation
Curl Curl Life Saving Club and North Curl Curl Life Saving Club patrol the beaches. Parks and playing fields are located on either side of Curl Curl Lagoon and Greendale Creek.
History
Curl Curl is an Aboriginal word meaning ''a lagoon''. The name was originally applied to Manly Lagoon but the reason for it later being applied to this lagoon and ocean beach is unknown.
Culture
Curl Curl Beach inspired the creation of a surf travel business in the UK call Curl Curl Surf Limited. This company takes people our of London to the beaches of north Devon to enjoy a weekend of surfing and eating. The Company was set up in 2007. [1]
