 | SCA Cut & Thrust Pas d'Arms Demo 1 SCA Cut & Thrust "demo challenge" held during the second annual "Fete of the Sabaton" Armored Combat Pas d'Arms at the "Middle Kingdom Academy of Defense XI" (MKAOD) event in NE Illinois, Labor Day weekend, 2008. Participants in this challenge: Adrian Flechyr (red & black) & Kevin O'Shaughnessy. Bouts were fought to a number of counted blows, using steel fencing/training swords. Although no claims of Historical Combat accuracy or quality are being made here, these demos do help to further introduce the potential of the newer, more historically oriented, Cut & Thrust program in the SCA, and how it can be incorporated, in part, into the sport, honor, and glory that SCA combat can be. This is a sword I just received and it's the first time I've worked with it much. I am trying to learn some basic cut-n-thrust fencing moves...though I realize how clumsy I am, and how much I SUCK after seeing the video. ;-) |
