CUTHBERT GOES DIGGING
'Cuthbert Goes Digging' was a 1983 computer game for the Dragon 32 home computer. Written by Steve Bak at Microdeal, the game featured the hero Cuthbert (a character who also appeared in Cuthbert Goes Walkabout and Cuthbert in the Mines). In the game, the player had to guide Cuthbert through levels of girders, avoiding spiders who were fatal to the touch.
The gameplay was basically identical to Space Panic: Cuthbert could kill the spiders by digging holes and causing them to fall down. On later levels, different coloured spiders were harder to kill - they had to be knocked through two platforms. Cuthbert also had to battle a time limit on each level (represented by an amount of oxygen remaining).
Cuthbert's ability to dig holes could also be used to quickly drop to a lower platform without the use of a ladder.
