CYPRESS CREEK HIGH SCHOOL (ORLANDO, FLORIDA)
'Cypress Creek High School' is located in south Orlando, Florida and serves students in grades 9 through 12.
Cypress Creek is an IB World School with an International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. As an IB World School, CCHS is a local magnet school allowing students from other Orange County, Florida schools to attend. Notable alumni include Phoenix Suns basketball player Amare Stoudemire.
Cypress Creek High School receives graduating students from Meadow Woods Middle School, South Creek Middle School, and Walker Middle School.
The school has roughly around 3,400 students enrolled. The school's racial demographics are 18.88% White, 12.73% Black, 56.81% Hispanic, and 11.58% other.

The Band
Cypress Creek's marching band was the first competitive marching band in Central Florida. Cypress Creek's marching band has been state grand champion for five consecutive years at FMBC state championships, 1998-2002, and has made finals every other year that it has participated. The band also placed in the Bands of America Grand National semi-finals, in 2000 (placing 17th), and 2002 (placing 20th), as well as many finals appearances in BOA Regional and Super Regional events since the schools opening. The band is, as of the 2007 - 2008 school year, under the supervision of Director Derek Shapiro and Associate Director Jeff Willis. The Jazz Band under Adam Steff has gotten Superiors at states two years in a row, the 2005-2006 school year and the 2006-2007 school year.The Cypress Creek High bands have been awarded the prestigious Otto J. Kraushaar award several times.The Cypress Creek High School Band Program is known by its motto, "Commitment to Excellence."[1]
Cypress Creek Party Radio
Cypress Creek High School has the only student-run radio station in the county. Its format is party dance music. It uses NexGen, the same software used by other Clear Channel Communications and other radio stations across the country. It is run by high-school students in the tenth grade and above.
Due to it being the only student-run radio station in the county, the class has gotten a lot of attention and publicity from the local news and newspapers. In 2006, the radio-station was featured in Central Florida News 13 from Bright House Networks, interveiwing the students about the job.
The radio station has its own block shows that air regularly during the week [2]. Each of the shows is run either automatically or by the students who attend the class.

Cypress Creek offers the AVID program, a college preparatory program for the economically disadvantaged.

Cypress Creek offers several options for high-achieving students. The International Baccalaureate Program of Cypress Creek High School is one of the largest in the nation, although Cypress Creek does not offer all of the course choices that the IB program offers. Students must apply for admittance into the program. In addition, Cypress Creek also offers the Advanced Placement Program program for some courses, supplementing its IB program.
NJROTC
The Naval Junior ROTC program is a very active program at the school. The unit provides an opporunity for cadets to learn valuable leadership skills, citizenship skills, and the value of commitment, honor and courage. The unit provides support to many components of the school including sports, drama, administration, parking, and many clubs.
IB is pretty hard. if you really want a goal, go to IB! :)
