DTR

'DTR' may mean:

★ 'Data Terminal Ready': An acronym used in RS-232 serial communications. The DTR signal is sent via a dedicated wire from the transmitting computer to the transmission device to indicate that the computer is ready to receive data.

★ 'Desktop Replacement': A category of portable computing to deliver desktop performance and features, typically by incorporating desktop processors, large LCD screens (15.4" widescreen and above) and extended-size keyboards. The cooling requirements of the CPU, as well as the additional peripherals, make desktop replacements suitable for occasional portability needs due to their weight and size.

★ 'Define the Relationship': a discussion that a dating couple has when determining what to call their relationship.

★ 'Downtown Radio': a commercial radio station based in Northern Ireland, owned by Emap.

★ 'Dietetic Technician, Registered': A dietetic professional with knowledge of the use of diet and nutrition in the treatment of diseases. A dietetic technician is only registered after completing a professional degree, 450 practice hours and passing an additional exam.

★ The 'Danish Twin Registry' (Danish: Det Danske Tvillingregister) established in 1954, containing all twins born in Denmark in the last 130 years, about 73,000.

★ 'Digital Television Receiver': A set-top box which you receive from Top Up TV in the UK to subscribe to digital television

★ 'Define The Relationship': A talk during which a couple that has been dating "Defines the Relationship," or "DTRs," discussing whether they are committing to one another exclusively.
