'Dallas City Hall' is the seat of Dallas municipal government, located at 1500 Marilla in the Government District of downtown Dallas, Texas (USA). It was completed in 1978 and was designed by I.M. Pei in the modernist architectural style [1] — like many of his buildings, Dallas City Hall is very angular and is designed like an inverted triangular prism.

The physical location of the city hall was left to the citizens of the city proper of Dallas, when the city council appointed a Citizen's City Hall Study Committee in 1964 to select an appropriate site.[2]

Trivia

★ Dallas City Hall appears in the movie RoboCop serving as OCP headquarters. Matte painting is used in the movie in order to give the appearance of a much taller building.

★ The design of Dallas City Hall inspired the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library building located across the street – whereas the upper floors of City Hall are oriented ''toward'' Marilla Street, the upper floors of the Central Library are oriented ''away from'' Marilla (and, in a form of symmetry, away from City Hall).
