'Dan Ahdoot' is an Iranian-American Jewish stand-up comedian who primarily performs in New York City. He is well-known for being a contestant in NBC's reality TV show ''Last Comic Standing'' and for performing on Comedy Central's ''Premium Blend''.
Ahdoot attended Johns Hopkins University and graduated with honors, expecting to attend medical school. According to jokes made in his act, he decided he "needed more economic security" in his life, and consequently turned to comedy. Moving to New York City, Ahdoot helped found an improv comedy troupe, wrote freelance for ''Crank Yankers'', and opened for such headlining comedians as Lewis Black, Jay Mohr, and Dave Chappelle. Ahdoot has made numerous guest appearances, inclulding ABC's ''20/20'' and Jim Breuer's Sirius Satellite Radio program.
Ahdoot's act has been particularly successful at colleges and universities, as well as corporate functions.
Dan was known in high school for a racially loaded "rap" that brought attention to the lack of Iranian-American Hip Hop artists.
