DAVE COX

'Dave Cox' is a Republican member of the California Senate, representing the 1st District since 2005. His district includes all or portions of Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Lassen, Placer, Plumas, Modoc, Mono, Nevada, Sacramento and Sierra Counties. He is Vice-Chair of the Senate Banking, Finance and Insurance and the Senate Local Government Committees.
Previously he was a member of the California House of Representatives, representing the 5th district from 1999 to 2004, and serving as the Assembly Republican Leader from 2001 through 2004. Before this, he served on the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors for six years. Cox made an unsuccessful run for the 6th Senate district in 1994 against veteran State Senator Leroy Greene.
Cox received a bachelors degree from University of San Diego and a masters from Golden Gate University. He is married with three children, and lives in Fair Oaks.
