'David Cass' (born 19 January 1937 in Honolulu) is a professor of economics at the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated from University of Oregon in 1958 with an A.B. in economics and earned his PhD in economics from Stanford University in 1965. He was a member of the economics faculty at Yale University from 1965 to 1970 and at Carnegie-Mellon University from 1970 to 1974. Since 1974 he is a Professor of economics at University of Pennsylvania.
His areas of research include General equilibrium theory, Macroeconomics and Monetary Economics. He is perhaps best known for his article ''Optimum Growth in an Aggregative Model of Capital Accumulation''. [1], where he modified the Ramsey growth model, which in his modified version is also known as Ramsey-Cass Koopmans model.
