DECORAH POSTEN

The '''Decorah Posten''' was a notable Norwegian language newspaper, published in Decorah, Iowa, United States. It was founded by Brynild Anundsen and widely read by Scandinavian immigrants in several states. The Decorah Posten ceased publication in 1972 when it was purchased by Western Viking.
Decorah, Iowa is today home to a sizable Norwegian-American population and Luther College, with more than 2,600 undergraduates, founded in 1862.
It is ironic that the title of the newspaper itself contained a grammatical error, the corrected name being "Decorahposten" or "Decorah-Posten".
