DELAWARE ROUTE 4


'Delaware Route 4' is a state highway in New Castle County, Delaware. The route runs from Delaware Route 48 in downtown Wilmington west to Newark. Delaware Route 4 is known as Maryland Avenue in Wilmington. The route continues west from Wilmington and heads towards Newport. In Newport, Delaware Route 4 splits into two one-way streets and features ramps that give access to Delaware Route 141. It continues west from Newport as a divided higway that passes through Stanton, where it shares a brief concurrency with Delaware Route 7, and Ogletown. The route continues west to the college town of Newark, where it bypasses the town to the south on the Christina Parkway. Delaware Route 4 overlaps Delaware Route 2 along the entire length of the Christina Parkway, and with Delaware Route 896 along the western half of the parkway. Delaware Route 4's western terminus is located at the western end of the Christina Parkway at Elkton Road, while concurrent with both Routes 2 and 896.
