★ 'State of Deseret', the name of a state which was proposed for admission to the United States in 1849; Utah Territory was also provisionally named the Territory of Deseret prior to its admission as a territory in 1850

★ 'Deseret alphabet', a phonetic language developed in the mid-1800s in Utah Territory to assist foreign-speaking immigrants in learning English

★ 'University of Deseret', the original name of the University of Utah, founded in 1850

★ 'Deseret Management Corporation', a for-profit management company of assets for the LDS Church

★ 'Deseret Book', a publisher and distributor of books relating to the LDS Church

★ 'Deseret Industries', a Utah-based thrift store

★ 'Deseret Ranch' in Florida, the largest cattle ranch in the United States
