DIANA MADDOCK, BARONESS MADDOCK
'Diana Margaret Maddock, Baroness Maddock' (born 31 January 1947) is a Liberal Democrat politician.
Maddock was educated at the University of Portsmouth and leader of the Liberal Democrats on Southampton City Council. She was Member of Parliament for Christchurch following a by-election in 1993 caused by the death of Robert Adley, but lost the seat at the 1997 election to the Conservative candidate Christopher Chope. She was made a life peer as 'Baroness Maddock', of Christchurch in the County of Dorset in 1997 and now sits in the House of Lords as the Lib Dems' housing spokesperson.
She is married to Alan Beith, MP for Berwick-upon-Tweed.
