DIMOND HIGH SCHOOL
'A.J. Dimond High School' is a public high school in Anchorage in the U.S. state of Alaska. Named for former Congressional delegate Anthony J. Dimond, it opened in 1967 and was the third high school in Anchorage. The original building housed both Dimond High and Jane Mears Junior High School until a separate building for Mears Junior High opened in 1986.
In April 1999, Anchorage voters approved the construction of a new building for Dimond. The new building opened in fall 2003. Today, Dimond is home to approximately 2,000 students and over 180 faculty and staff. The current principal is Cheryl Guyett.
Dimond is part of the Anchorage School District.
★ Three time PBA title winner Sean Rash graduated from Dimond. After his time at Dimond he attended Wichita State University in Kansas. There he achieved fame as a bowler and went on to win his first title in Parkersburg, West Virginia in 2005.
