A 'dominion' is a self-governing country or state outside the United Kingdom which is a Commonwealth Realm, particularly:

★ The Dominion of Canada, the constitutional name of Canada, largely disused since the 1960s.

★ The Dominion of Newfoundland, the former name of Newfoundland and Labrador prior to it becoming a Canadian province in 1949.

★ The Dominion of New Zealand, a disused name for the Realm of New Zealand.
In a similar sense, it can also refer to the Dominions of Sweden, the Swedish empire.
