DREXELL'S CLASS

'''Drexell's Class''' was a situation comedy aired by Fox Broadcasting Company as part of its 1991-92 lineup.
''Drexell's Class'' starred Dabney Coleman in the role of Otis Drexell, a fifth-grade teacher fictional Grantwood Elementary School in Cedar Bluffs, Iowa. Besides the bevy of cute kids, the cast also included, for most of the show's run, Edie McClurg as Drexell's boss, Principal Marilyn Ridge.
At first two of the working titles of the show, before Drexell's Class was selected; were the more blunt, ''Oh no, Not Drexell!'' and ''Shut up, Kids!''

Trivia

★ On the wall of Drexell's classroom a progression of American flags is shown from 1776 to the year 2000. The year 2000 shows a flag of Japan. This raised a tremendous controversy with World War II veterans groups who claimed that, even in jest, it was in very poor taste.
