DRUMCONDRA F.C.

(Redirected from Drumcondra FC)

'Drumcondra F.C.' was an Irish football club from Dublin.
Drumcondra was elected to the ''League'' in 1928 and played there for the next 44 seasons from their home ground Tolka Park.
Drums became the first League of Ireland side to register an aggregate win in European competition when they knocked out Danish side B 1909 of Odense from the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in the 1962/63 season. Although beaten 6-0 by Bayern Munich in the following round in Germany, they did restore pride with a 1-0 home win. Drums also played Atlético Madrid, Nürnberg, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Vorwärts Berlin in European competition.
In 1972 the team amalgamated with Home Farm F.C.
