DWANE CASEY

'Dwane Casey' (born April 17, 1957 in Morganfield, Kentucky) is the former head coach of the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves.
Casey played college basketball at the University of Kentucky between 1975 and 1979, and would later serve as an assistant coach there. In 1990, Casey was banned from coaching in the NCAA after being tied to sending cash payments to Chris Mills, who was being recruited to play at Kentucky. However, Casey was never found guilty of the charges, and won a considerable anti-defamation lawsuit as a result.
Casey coached in Japan for five years. He then served as an assistant coach for the Seattle SuperSonics, first under George Karl and then under Nate McMillan.
At the start of the 2005-2006 NBA season, Casey was hired as the head coach of the Timberwolves, replacing Kevin McHale, after McHale coached the Wolves for thirty-one games in the 2004-2005 season in an interim capacity following the firing of longtime Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders. Casey lasted only a season and a half in Minnesota (with an overall record of 53-69) , and was fired on January 23 2007. He was replaced by assistant Randy Wittman. He is currently interviewing for an assistant coaching spot.
