ePrize was founded in 1999 by Josh Linkner. It received a monetary boost in 2006 after securing a $32 million USD investment[1] from several Detroit-area business leaders including Dan Gilbert, founder and chairman of Quicken Loans, and Brian Hermelin. Fifth Third Bank also provided bank financing and a working capital facility.

ePrize is ranked the number-three company by Promo Magazine among the PROMO 100[2], number 185 on the 2006 Inc. 500 list[3], and is the 2006 number-one administrator of chance-to-win promotions in the United States[4] (based on data provided by the state of Florida).
