An 'Ecuadorian American' is someone who is of Ecuadorian descent or was born in Ecuador and achieved American citizenship. Many Ecuadorian Americans have left Ecuador because of the economic crisis that the country faces and their corrupt political machine. Many Ecuadorians in the United States have settled in cities such as New York City (Queens, Brooklyn, The Bronx) Ossining, New York , Hudson, New York, Danbury, Connecticut, Jersey City, New Jersey, Union City, New Jersey, Newark, New Jersey Plainfield, New Jersey, Chicago, Illinois, Orlando, Florida, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Miami, Florida, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Los Angeles, California.
