EDMONTON CITY CENTRE
'Edmonton City Centre' is a shopping mall in downtown Edmonton, Alberta, Canada across the street from Churchill Square.
After the demise of the Eaton's department store in 1999, Eaton Centre and Edmonton Centre, formerly two independent malls, were redeveloped into one shopping complex connected by a newer and larger pedestrian bridge spanning 101 Street (that itself contains a number of shops). The Bay, a former Eaton's competitor, moved into part of the former Eaton's store, with the remainder of the store also partially converted into a parking garage and call centre. The former Bay location in the Edmonton Centre is now heavily renovated and converted into smaller retail stores and the Edmonton operations of the CBC. Edmonton City Centre also has a movie theatre and pedway connections to other buildings and the LRT.

Business
ECC is currently home to four office towers: two (TD Tower, City Centre Place) are connected to the mall, the third (Bell Tower) is located across the street, and the fourth (Oxford tower) is located in the lobby of the Sutton Place Hotel. These towers are more than fifteen stories in height and house many different businesses.
Themes
When Eaton Centre was a separate entity from Edmonton Centre, it had an eighteen hole mini-golf course on the lower level. Following the merger of the two malls, much of the lower level of both malls was redeveloped as food courts.
Security
Security is currently provided by a contract company, GARDA of Canada. Security Services is located on the main level, near the 102 Avenue entrance. Security personal work on rotating 12-hour shifts and provide 24 hr security to the facility. Security is also responsible for access control into restricted areas, and is rumoured to also be responsible for the packaging of cardboard from one of the loading docks. Security is also responsible for patrolling several of the car parks located next to Edmonton Centre; this is achieved through marked patrol vehicles.
Guest Services
In February 2007, Customer Service (formerly located on the lower level of Edmonton City Centre West) was revamped into the new Guest Services Kiosk, located on the main level of the east side near the 102A Avenue entrance. Their services include: stroller and wheelchair rental, gift certificate sales, pedway maps, lost and found, mall information, and specialized gift wrapping (free if it was purchased in the mall).
